The legendary TV show Dallas, sceneframed on the Southfork Ranch location in Texas, US.
During our 2014 roadtrip we stopped by the Southfork Ranch, the filming location to Dallas and a home to the Ewing family. This show was a huge success at its time and a lot of its memorabilia, props and photo worthy other things are being carefully restored and presented to the fans and public by this lovely ranch outside of Dallas, TX.

The visit to this ranch was a surprisingly emotional one. The tour began with a lovely little lecture on the ranch’s history and some very moving behind the scenes stories by a lady who has been around long enough to know more than most. We learned about the days of filming, the story of the original owner and his family and heard heartbreaking stories on the passing of Larry Hagman.
If you ever watched the show, you should definitely see if you could visit the ranch too. The rooms are stunning, the memorabilia is endless and you’ll even get a fun ride in a tractor tram of sorts! The whole ranch is open for you to explore and to snap those Dallas inspired photos and selfies all around. You can visit their office, meet some beautiful horses and if you visit during the summer months, get to experience the heat that the poor cast & crew had to endure… while wearing three piece suits, cowboy boots and ten gallon stetsons!
Visit the Southfork Ranch official website for more information.
We’ll be writing a full article with lots of photos and stories at some point, too.
Our advent calendar will feature movie & TV sceneframes and short stories from filming locations we’ve visited during our Fangirl Quest years. You can follow the calendar by checking back in the Advent Calendar tag and check out all the movie locations in this handy map, updated as we go!
