Hey, we’re no critics even though we do reviews! We’re just Lovers Of Many Things. Hence, a bad theatre production or a really boring movie won’t make it into these archives. This collection of posts is all about the super good things: plays we’ve seen on the West End stage or on Broadway; a film that made us cry or laugh for three days in a row or something else so good that we just couldn’t shut up about it.

  • I’ve been waiting for Dunkirk for over a year. Literally. Just a few weeks ago Facebook reminded me of this fact by showing me an update from July 2016: I was gushing over the filming of the movie taking place in Dorset, England… and I wanted to be…

  • What is #AloneTogether about? #ALONETOGETHER weaves a virtual link between Kiasma’s visitors and the artists. From 12 April 2017, LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner will spend a month in three remote cabins somewhere in Lapland, entirely cut off from other people. A video link to a small cabin installed…

  • It’s 1:20am in Finland on a chilly Sunday night. I’ve just finished the wild ride that was Sense8 season 2 even though I swore I wouldn’t rush through it all. But I did. I just couldn’t stop. I kept going and at times, I forgot to blink and to breathe.…

  • Whenever we travel to London and have a free evening to spare, we prioritize theatre above anything else. Shakespeare, musicals, comedy, drama, everything goes — there’s always something we “absolutely have to see”. The perfect night out in West End, however, requires luck with three things: time, tickets and money.…

  • This morning, I woke up, had my usual two huge cups of milky coffee and had a quick look on Facebook. Scroll, scroll, scroll… Oh, look at that! A pretty fine painted portrait of my friend. Dude, did you commission someone to paint a picture of you so…

  • There are a lot of things about films that I pay attention to, so many more aspects and details I think about that I never paid attention to in my 20’s. After seeing thousands of films, working as a still photographer on set and visiting several big productions on…

  • We have a tradition of watching as many of the Oscar nominees as possible before the actual gala. Then of course, we all need to pick the ones we think are going to win each category. Afterwards, we’ll count points. During, we play this Oscars drinking game. But…

  • I’ve never understood jazz. I can appreciate the skill of the players, the precision and the dedication, but I never really got anything out of the music itself. It doesn’t move me here or there, it’s just… kind of there. (The same way I can appreciate sushi: I’m…
