You know how you can have a love–hate relationship with something? Well, with Wales we mostly have a love–love relationship. Tiia first visited the country in 2008 during a little train trip in the UK, just because she wanted to know what it’s like in the home country to one of her all time favourite bands. (Stereophonics, in case you need to know. Check them out, they’re incredible!)

“Let’s go see what Wales is about!” she said to her friend, and off they went. Their night in Cardiff started with beers and tequila shots, and ended in half a dozen new friends and a missed train ride west and on to the pre-booked Wexford boat.

During the following 5 years, Tiia kept going back and took Satu along as well. The same thing happened with her: she fell in love with the country, the people, the sceneries, the culture.

In 2013, we both sold everything we owned in Finland, packed a couple of suitcases each and moved to Cardiff. Within just a few months from that, we met Benedict Cumberbatch and Matt Smith in person, visited some of the most incredible filming locations we’ve ever seen and started blogging about it all under the name Fangirl Quest.

So yeah. We’ve got plenty of reasons to love Wales. It’s our second home.
