It took us a while to locate the beautiful Sense8 church in Iceland seen near the end of season 8, but it was worth the trouble. We managed to visit the Hallgrímskirkja Saurbæ just before sunset and during it, which resulted in some stunning candy pink skies and these not quite believable photos. But we can assure you… it really was that beautiful.
Netflix’s Sense8 makes a return on our screens today in the form of a Christmas special (yay!) and I’m totally in a hurry to go and watch it. But since it’s Christmas-come-early for us fans, we decided to not only publish this one new sceneframe from the show, but also a big location guide hilighting a few important Sense8 filming locations in Chicago and Iceland.
Do check it out! Since the show is filmed on several continents and on multiple locations, we’d have to do a round the world trip to sceneframe even a fraction of it. Maybe some day we will… but for now, these two places will have to do!
It’s not often we have to race against running out of daylight and sometimes, it gets us stuck in the dark in scary places… but just sometimes, it’s totally worth it. Like witnessing this incredible sunset on the most beautiful of Icelandic locations? Priceless. Thank you, Sense8 crew, for (sort of) taking us there! :)
Our advent calendar will feature movie & TV sceneframes and short stories from filming locations we’ve visited during our Fangirl Quest years. You can follow the calendar by checking back in the Advent Calendar tag and check out all the movie locations in this handy map, updated as we go!
