Florence is a filming location for Hannibal season 3, but it’s also a city that looks more like a painting than an actual place. I went there for a few days with my friend Karl, and we kept looking at everything and everyone and telling each other “These people can’t really live here. It’s all a lie. No-one can live in a city like this.” because it was all just so mind-blowingly beautiful.
Between being completely in awe and checking out some of the famous sights, we visited every single Hannibal location we could find listed online and even discovered a few new ones. Our sceneframes got retweeted by the show producer (and one of our TV gods!) Bryan Fuller, and we’ve gotten a lot of love for the Hannibal filming location guide from people visiting the city. That’s a thing that makes us bloggers very happy: knowing that we’re reaching the right kind of audience, that they find our work useful and especially… that there’s others out there who get their kicks out of film tourism.
For all these reasons I decided it’s very important to include this show, this city and especially my bae Mads Mikkelsen in our Advent Calendar.
Our advent calendar will feature movie & TV sceneframes and short stories from filming locations we’ve visited during our Fangirl Quest years. You can follow the calendar by checking back in the Advent Calendar tag and check out all the movie locations in this handy map, updated as we go!
